Sorting myth from legend

The team at Académie du Vin Library asked me to write something for their latest collection, On Tuscany. In amongst its pages, with works by some of the wine world’s biggest names, you’ll find a geeky piece from me – looking at the fabled Sangiovese Grosso clone, the one that I was long taught defined the wines of Montalcino. I spoke to a host of brilliant people as I tried to clear these murky waters, from Biondi-Santi to Poggio di Sotto.
