Disrupt and disturb: the legacy of Bordeaux’s garagistes

Jean-Luc Thunevin made the first vintage of Valandraud – the original vin de garage – in the year I was born. I don’t know a world of wine without these caricatured, bombastic bottles, yet when they first appeared they ruffled more than a few feathers in Bordeaux. I caught up with three of the movement’s most famous figures to dig into the trend – and consider what it means for Bordeaux today.
